When developing a prototype circuit, especially when the final enclosure is not available, EMPulse provides a very quick way to scan circuits for potential EMC problems.

Internal wiring can be scanned especially ribbon cables that  run close to a metal enclosure. These can often pick up magnetic fields from currents flowing in the metalwork as ESD occurs.

Taking these precautions can reduce the chances of having  to re-engineer a PCB or wiring layout that fails the final  mandatory ESD tests.
